Julie, being the hipster that she is, had Eric get this shirt to wear for dress-down day at work (a.k.a. casual Friday). It turned out to cause quite a stir. While Eric was concentrating on the presentation at the staff meeting, several coworkers were bobbing their heads up and down, giving Eric funny glances. Eric thought he must have some food on his face from lunch, but it turned out that everyone was just trying to figure out what was on his shirt.One manager joked that wearing a skull creates a hostile work environment.
However, Eric read in the recent Esquire that skulls are the latest fashion symbol representing a carefree attitude towards life - the duality that the skull represents both the emptiness of consumerism and the embodiment of it.
