Summer in San Francisco is unusually beautiful. It was hard for Julie not to want to take William to go play at the beach with his new friends. Watching them dig and chase dogs and birds became Julie's favorite thing to do this summer.

Hallelujah soccer is over!
We are so glad that the swimming class is working out so well for William. He is not the next Michael Phelps yet but he is sure loving the time he gets to spend in the water ^_^
To help William burn off more energy during the day, Julie signed him up for a teddies soccer class. I guess we should have expected that he is going to have a hard time listening to instruction since he is the youngest in the class.
William's favorite part of soccer class is snacks. He doesn't like to run after the ball, jump through obstacles... he just wants to stay close to mommy...'s bag where there is cheddar bunny crackers. You can also expect to see him stare into space, looking for trucks in the parking lot, or planes flying over head. Since he started talking more, he actually will say "done! done!", proceed to sing the bye bye song, and start walking towards the gate 10 minutes into class (class is 40 minutes).
True to Julie's Taiwanese nature, she was not going to let any of these classes go to waste. She still loyally brought William to soccer class for the past 8 weeks... running after the ball with William in hand, jumping through obstacles while William cling on like a baby koala, praying for the class to end soon. When the teacher announced that today was the last class and reminded all the parents to sign up for the next session
all Julie wanted to say was " PRAISED THE LORD!!!"
We will not be signing up for any soccer classes for a while.
Here is a picture of William's friends: Paxson and Zachary. Julie took this shot while the boys are still on the train at the zoo.

LA Water park and William's first wedding!
William loves playing with his friend Zachary! They look so cute together when they follow each otehr around and look for each other at the playground.

On the day Zachary's parents went to find out the gender of his baby sibling, we were glad we were able to be at the playground to keep him company since it is the first time he was left with a sitter.

We found that William definitely has mommy and daddy's TV addict genes!

When we brought out William's baby car seat to take down to LA for Shirley and Sung, William climb in as if he remembered the seat! very interesting... does he remember?

Grammie found this awesome public water park in Long Beach when we were in LA! William loved it! What a great park! I hope they can keep it clean.

William's big adventure in DC
Since Eric's work schedule was difficult to predict when we can have a vacation, we decided to just go for it one weekend. Destination: DC-where it all started!
It was fun to bring William back to where we got engaged. It is weird to be standing on the exact steps from 7 years ago with our baby in hand.
William surprised us with his first number 2 in a real toilet! we were so proud ^_^ Carol was so nice to loan us her place... but now she will never be able to leave or she will have to take the toilet with her... where her godson first pooped!
We started our journey first by taking the BART... William did so well!
Here is William the little explorer! (great picture taking Carol!)
Here is William with his new wooden ride... or is that the memorial warning sign?
Here is William having a stare down with the squirrel.
Love the free zoo!
Here is Jason trying out their new baby carrier with William as a sample baby!
William loved the museums! He called everything bigger than a person "CAR" and everything smaller than a person "DOG"! (with a lot of enthusiasm).

Here are the proud parents to be! Alice and Jason! thanks for letting me take your pictures!

On the very last day, William found a fountain near Eric's DC office. He had a blast!
This was a great summer vacation for us!

William's first Bay-to-Breakers
Eric and Julie thought they should take William on his first Bay-to-Breakers before William is old enough to ask why there are so many naked people. Since William's arrival, he though slowed us down a little but he inspires us to be creative and bring him along on our adventurous journey!

It was so fun to see people in such creative outfits!

Or wonder is that outfit real? (he is one hairy man!)

Since this was the 100th anniversary for Bay-to-Breakers... we were not able to get tickets in time, but we went anyways... didn't quite make it to the finish line but it was fun!

And the boys needed a long nap after that 12K walk!
