Eric is always looking for ways to save money. So for fun, Eric decided to make Julie a strawberry pie and if it is a success then Julie would not have to buy her favorite strawberry pie from Hof's Hut anymore.
Here is Eric waiting for the glaze to chill before putting it in the Marie Calender's pie crust.
Here is the pie after it is assembled!
Eric was so proud of the pie... but Julie reminded Eric
J:" don't we need to bake the pie crust first before putting the stuff in there?"
E:" isn't the pie crust ready to use kind?"
J:" I think it is ready to bake kind..."
E:" Oh No!"
... Eric had to pour everything out, bake the crust and put the strawberries back in -_-
William fell asleep while waiting for daddy's pie.
Eric now has a new appreciation for the fine craftsmanship of Hof's Hut's pie ^_^

Julie's Revelation!
William week 12: battle of the sleep bug
Not that we are bragging... but our little guy is really developing fast. Weighing in at 17 lbs, he is already rolling on his side (not quite all the way over... but he is able to roll onto his right side)^_^
Now we have to watch him when he take naps on the rocking chair in the afternoon.
... need to pay attention when he is playing on the floor gym by himself.
... look at these strong muscles ( ... or rolls) ^_^

William week 11: my first St. Patty's Day
Spring is in the air and St. Patrick's day is here. To celebrate William's (part) Irish heritage, Eric and Julie bought William a cute "my 1st St. Patrick's day" bib. This day is not only William's first St. Patrick's day but also is Julie's one year anniversary of becoming an U.S. citizen!
On this special day, William took a picture with Dr. Laura Norrell, who delivered William 2.5 months ago, while mommy had a doctor's appointment.
Daddy also took William to the San Francisco St. Patrick's day street party. No beer for William just yet!
We also went to see the beautiful tulips at the Golden Gate Park. Doesn't it make you feel like you are in Amsterdam ^_^
To go with the spring theme, here is a picture of Eric "trying" to read Mother Goose to William ^_^

Sears Photo Shoot
![]() |
At first we went in thinking that we were only going to use the $7.99 coupon for one pose. However, the photographer spent a lot of time with us and tried to sell us more photos than we wanted (i.e. $300+) ... after 1.5 hours, Eric stood firm and only purchased the one pose for $7.99... (we felt bad for the photographer since she spent so much time with us -_-)
Later on, Julie was able to download some of the proofs from the online album... not good enough quality for printing but at least we got to save some of the shots.

This photo we really liked and purchased!

and this is a shot of William chewing on his fist or, as Carol calls it, a tough guy look!

William week 10: Our big trip to LA
Before our big trip to Taiwan this May, Eric and Julie decided to drive down to LA to see how William does with long rides. Our trip was an uneventful one. After Eric's work on Friday, Eric, Julie and little William gathered up all their luggage and started the drive down to LA. There is something magical about car rides. William usually falls asleep right away. Of the 7 hours on the road, he slept for 6... (we were a little worried that he was not making any sound at all and had to stop, wake him up, and feed him for an hour).
William met his uncle Peter for the first time. Some people at church say that William looks like Peter because of the hair line... -_-
William met his great grammy for the first time and made her smile ^_^
We were also able to get a shot of all the boys in the family ^_^
Here is William looking a little sleepy in his godmama Carol's arms!
William even got to go to his first concert by his "little" uncle Louis. Note: even though Louis is actually William's first cousin once removed, Louis has the option of having William call him COR (Cousin-once-removed) Louis or uncle Louis according to the Chinese tradition. Eric said that according to the Chinese tradition, Louis will have to give William five dollars for Chinese New Year's red bag money (i.e. a five dollars uncle membership fee for the year)... so we will see what Louis decides ^_^

William Week 9: First shot -_-
Now that William is 2 months old, he will start to get all his immunizations. Since he did really well with needles at the hospital, Eric and Julie were not too worried.
Here is William happy to see daddy get off work early... (does not know what is coming)
Here is William still happy to see the pretty nurse and not realizing that she has already started on the shots.

"WHAT IS THIS?!?"
We need a "wambulance"!
Daddy made it all better ^_^
Here is William and Julie relaxing after a long day ^_^More pictures:
