Week 39!!!

OK! Anytime now!!
Mama Yang arrived 2 weeks early just in case junior arrives early. Maybe because the weather is too cold in SF and junior really enjoy his current 24 hr climate control/food delivery 1 cubic foot apartment, he has decided to stay for the whole leasing period^_^

We got to celebrate a quiet Christmas this year. Mama Yang and Papa Yang got junior a set of fancy gold bracelet/necklace/ring gift set to help celebrate his arrival.

Eric got thicker kitchen mittens to help him earn more brownie points.

And Julie got a new SLR to take LOTs of pictures of junior when he arrives ^_^

Not so quiet Christmas Eve: Hunan Hand -_-

Our Christmas Eve was not so quiet... To celebrate Christmas, Julie decided to make her special lasagna so Eric won't feel too homesick. Since Mama Yang was around, Julie did most of the chopping of the ingredients while Mama Yang did most of the stove cooking. To try out new ingredients, Julie used Anaheim chili instead of the green bell pepper...
It was strange... after chopping the chili, Julie felt this burning sensation in her right index finger... she thought she accidentally touched something hot...

Little did she know, the burning sensation started to spread throughout the evening. By the end of the night, her whole right hand felt like it was on fire. After much searching on the internet, Eric found out that Julie actually got " Hunan Hand".

For those of you who are not familiar with this term:
Hunan hand (definition): a contact dermatitis resulting from the direct handling of chili peppers containing capsaicin.

After trying out all different home remedies at midnight (Merry Christmas ^_^): ice, baby oil, olive oil, contact lens solution, milk..., the burning sensation finally subsided after 2 hours.

What a night^_^

Baby craft

Julie was inspired by some online knitting patterns and started knitting some hats for junior. She started off with the apple hat. It turned out really well so Eric recommended making an acorn hat to go with the family saying "acorns don't fall too far from the tree." It turned out pretty well also ^_^

Our homemade glamour shots ^_^

We are definitely in the home stretch and can't wait for the little guy to arrive. We wanted to make sure that we had a record of this precious time in our lives... so we tried to take some pictures at home. Turned out pretty well we thought ^_^

Package of Love from far far away

Julie received a very strange package today. At first glance, she thought "that is some funny looking wrapping paper for a package... very festive... very Christmas?!?". Upon closer examination, she realized that it was not wrapping paper but LOTS of stamps. It is probably the most stamps she's ever seen on a package ^_^ How neat!

( Got Stamps? ^_^ Post office probably had fun counting up all the stamps on this package)

After carefully opening the package (without cutting open any of the stamps), Julie was surprised to find this super cute set of Peter Rabbit outfit for junior and pictures of Julie's cousin Alice's baby girl's video and pictures!

Here is a picture of the happy parents!

And here is the picture of the little gal ^_^ She looks so happy!!! Her video brought Julie to tears... wish she was there to see the little gal!

Early Christmas celebration!

In anticipation of junior's arrival, we decided to have our Christmas dinner with our friends early. We could not wait to see who would bring the most creative Christmas gift this year.

Someone stole from the pregnant lady... but Julie was all smiles when she stole back the scarf.

Of course, fire safety Santa brought Andy a fire extinguisher for the Lo family kitchen ^_^

We also got to celebrate Noelle and Andy's birthday!!

It was such a yummy pie...

Julie found out that you can bake cookies on the pizza stone... so she baked up a storm... Christmas cookies everywhere ^_^

Junior's afternoon excercise

Here is a short video of junior doing an afternoon kicking exercise. Pay close attention to the horizontal lines on the sweater in the upper-right quadrant of the video... You will see the belly twitch quickly.
