It was a beautiful day for the Cherry Blossom Festival at Japan Town. The parade was only about 3 blocks long but it was to last 3 hours. You can definitely feel the closeness of the community. The families of the paraders stood by the curb and cheered as they walk by the stage.
Watching the girl and the boy scouts in the parade reminded Julie of the independence parade in Taiwan.

Toured de San Francisco
While Eric and Julie embarked on a spring tour of San Francisco City, Eric made a new little friend on the muni. Hummm... Spring is here!!
The weather was great...
The flowers were blooming...
A perfect day for Julie to try out her camera...
Eric was very happy that they got to use the monthly Muni pass to get on the historic city cable car.
There was so much going on at the Fisherman's Wharf.
More beautiful flowers at Pier 39
Finally, we ended our day out with a nice afternoon snack at Bubba Gump, San Francisco.

New Tires (for us and the car)

Before we got married, we wanted matching rings. Now that we have been married for two summers and two winters, we realized we now have matching "spare tires" ^0^ (i.e. wearing a winter coat, packing on some insulation for chilly San Francisco).
Maybe it's the slowing down of the metabolism as we approach 30, but it seems like whatever we eat just sticks.
So, we've decided to get what we've been paying for and use the apartment gym. This week we've settled into a routine of doing a 30 minute workout every day when we get home. Julie was finally willing to test out the water at the swimming pool today, and we were surprised to find that the pool is pretty warm. Maybe we'll switch up our routine and go swimming. And get fit for this summer.

Olympic torch
vs.
Eric followed the Olympic torch news all day today at work. Protests, counter-protests, etc. And Eric kept thinking about going down to the Embarcadero to watch, since it would pass by and then end close to his office... but being the good worker bee he is, he stayed put.
Feeling much remorse, we turned on the evening news to find out that the government had secretly changed the route. So now Eric is happy that he didn't try to watch anything! And besides, Eric's dad said that when there is an angry crowd you should walk the other way.
